Christopher Kight Photography

I was lucky enough to have Meagan from Christopher Kight as my wedding photographer. She also did our engagement photos. She was absolutely amazing.

My mom and I met her at a bridal show and set up an appointment with her, and a few others. Wes and I ended up really liking her and decided to use her.

The engagement shoot was a blast. We went into downtown Sacramento and it was like working with a friend. We were laughing and joking the entire time. The photos came out great. She had us to a bunch of different things with different backgrounds, from train tracks to brick buildings and trees and much more. She also made us a guest book with a photo cover (front and back) with photos on the inside and room to write, all of our guests loved it.

At the wedding, she was great. She got gorgeous detailed shots, great shots of me getting ready, group photos and more. The portraits and group photos were a breeze. She was well organized and unobtrusive. People told me she was very quiet at the wedding and she was never in the way. She was not standing in front of people and she was great.

She got great shots at the reception and was very aware of where Wes and I were, when we hugged friends and family she got a lot of photos.

She has tons of different angles and options and the photos turned out beautifully. I could not have asked for more from Meagan and would recommend her to anyone.

DJ - Extreme Productions

My dad had used Matt Brys with Extreme Productions for a few events before and we decided to use him. I looked around at other places because I was unsure about spending a good amount of money on a DJ but in the end decided Matt was the best fit.

He kept things exciting. He did special introductions for each wedding party member that were absolutely hilarious. Everyone loved it. It was a surprise to the wedding party as well as my husband.

He knew when people weren't loving whatever he was playing and he switched things up. I think people felt included. He helped out with things, like cleaning up when the night was over, making sure things were running at a good time.

He and his team made a video, with three songs, of Wes and I.

He had two set up locations, one at the ceremony site and the other at the reception site. He asked what things we wanted and offered up suggestions, and made everything great.

It was perfect and I was 100 percent satisfied. Any bride would be very lucky to have him as their DJ.

Venue - Arden Hills Resort and Spa.

We had both our reception and ceremony at Arden Hills. Both sites looked absolutely gorgeous.

Arden Hills was beautiful. We used the Villas and the East Terrace room. The food was delicious and everything looked beautiful. I feel they were expensive and maybe we didn't get enough bang for our buck but afterall was said and done, I was pleased.

The biggest downside was they were hard to communicate with after we signed the contract and gave a deposit. It was like they didn't care anymore, especially Sandra. Once Alicia, my coordinator, was assigned to me, it was a lot better. We also were promised a room for the night of the wedding and their special for that month was a room the night before for me to get ready in. We had issues setting that up so that I seamlessly went from one room to the other. They wanted me to check out at 11 a.m. the day of, and check in after 3 p.m.....that didn't work because it was a four hour gap when I was trying to get ready, and we were getting ready there. It ended up being absolutely gorgeous and perfect and I was very happy.

The location is beautiful and the food was really good. If you have the money to have your wedding there, and are willing to deal with some headaches from them, they are not at all a bad place to have your big day. I am really happy with the end results, but it would have been nice if we didn't have to deal with some of these hang ups, especially the difficulty with communication.

Cake - Village Cake Shoppe

My cake was beautiful. It looked exactly the way we wanted it to. However I did have issues with the service we had.

We worked with Patrick, and I think he was pretty scatter brained. He never remembered us when we came it. He kept forgetting when our wedding was, what we wanted, etc. We had a tasting with him, where my husband, maid of honor and mom came with me. He only gave us four types of cake to try and I feel like we should've been given more to try.

We confirmed with him a few times, and I brought in the ribbon I wanted around my cake a couple weeks before, and confirmed with him again, as well as gave him the final payment.

As far as I know, the cake was delivered on time because it was there and ready to go when we needed it to be. I didn't notice until we were leaving the reception that one of the layers was not what we ordered. It was a white cake with pink filling. We definitely didn't order anything similar. So the middle layer of our cake was completely wrong.

The top and bottom layers were exactly what we ordered, and delicious. But in retrospect I am disappointed that we spent so much money, and confirmed so many times with him, and he couldn't get it right.

Flowers : Mom's Wholesale Flowers

Everything ended up looking beautiful. I didn't see my flowers until the day of the wedding and they were amazing. We had four bouquets plus a toss bouquet. Plus four corsages and 7 bouts.

I wasn't totally sure what I wanted and when we sat down we worked at all out a month before the wedding and I was really really happy with how they came out. The only thing's I didn't like is that they made us pay for ice and we had to bring a cooler for them to use when they delivered the flowers. I don't know if that's common for all places, but I didn't like it.

Their delivery was a little disappointing. We thought they would take care of all the setup, but the only thing they really did was put ribbon on the chairs for us, my Maid of Honor and coordinator did the rest.

Hair - Hair by Design

Hair by Design is a great little company. i believe Tina owns/runs the business. She helped figured out all my arrangements and the contract, but Chrysta did my hair.

She was phenomenal. We did a trial and I didn't know exactly what I wanted but she played with it and figured it out in about and hour and a half with curling, pinning and more.

When we got ready, she did my hair first. She was quick, efficient and it was perfect. Better than the trial by far.

She also did my mom's, mother in law and two bridesmaids. The mothers didn't know really what they wanted and she gave them great suggestions they loved and they look gorgeous.

My bridesmaids showed them what they wanted and she had no problem.

All five of us had amazing looking hair and I highly recommend her.

Make up by Brenda Azevedo (Just B Cosmetics)

Brenda was absolutely amazing.

The trail with her was great, she hit everything spot on and listened to everything my mom and I said and listened to everything I wanted or didn't want.  She was incredible. She came on site and worked with Chrysta from Hair by Design. They both pulled people and took their time finishing them up. Brenda did a touch up everyone before she left.

Everyone looked amazing and highly recommend her.

Invites and Paper

We purchased our Save the Dates, Invitations and Thank You card from MagnetStreet Weddings (magnetstreetweddings.com

I only had one ordering issue with them relating to envelopes and I had things ordered far enough ahead of time that the delay didn't cause me any problems. When I alerted them of the issue over the phone they had things sorted out quickly and I received the right sized enveloped within about five days.

These products were expensive but were exactly what I wanted and were the only one's like it that I could find. There are a lot of great coupon codes for them out there if you take some time to look.

They were quick and efficient. I didn't need to order months ahead of time. My products always arrived before they were suppose to. I think the longest wait I endured was about 10 days after ordering, which included production and shipping.

We made the programs by buying a program kit from Michaels.
