Advice from me, to brides-to-be!
Congratulations and good luck. I used The Knot and other sites (but mostly The Knot) when planning my wedding. I got a lot of good ideas and good advice, so I thought I'd share some too.
-Take time planning your wedding if you can. Don't do it by yourself. If you're lucky like me, you'll have a great Maid of Honor to help you along the way. Don't fight with your fiance about the wedding. Try and do things together and make sure both of you are represented in the wedding. There should be reflections of each of you in your big day..
-Try not to worry about the little things. I know they're stressful but work on them when you have a clear head and can come up with the best way to get it done and fix the problem.
-If you get the chance, make sure you pull your friends aside that you really want a photo with. My best friend (who was not in the wedding) never got a photo with me. I'm really sad we don't have a nice photo together, it would have been great to have one of the two of us.
-Take a minute to look around you during the reception. It seriously goes by SO quickly, it'll be over before you know it.
-Plan out family photos with your photographer for after the ceremony beforehand. It makes things much smoother if you all know who is taking photos and it gets it done.
-Use vendors you trust and are comfortable with.
-Get things done ahead of time when you can.
